Meet our Medical Director, Dr. Daniel Neudorf:
Dr. Neudorf (he/him) is a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, licensed by the California Osteopathic Medical Board, who holds dual board-certifications in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation and in Brain Injury Medicine.
After completing a four-year residency at UC Davis Medical Center in 2018, Dr. Neudorf stayed on as faculty at UC Davis Health, where he held a number of academic, clinical, and administrative appointments. Following his tenure in academia, Dr. Neudorf served the Santa Cruz community as a staff physician at Dominican Hospital until he founded Canopy Medical Clinic in 2026.
He has enjoyed caring for people over the full trajectory of their recoveries: from consulting as a rehab specialist on catastrophically injured patients in the ICU, to guiding care through acute inpatient rehabilitation, to building long-term relationships with his patients in the outpatient setting.
Dr. Neudorf strives to help his patients find quality of life, and recognizes the importance of individualized, personalized care. He believes his work demands creativity, patience, and genuine collaboration with patients and their families.
He practices medicine in Ben Lomond as a member of the Santa Cruz mountain community that he serves; and he aims to be a steady, useful presence in it.

Scope of Practice
We offer a number of non-surgical/non-operative treatments including injections, Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine, prescription of medications, durable medical equipment, prosthetics/orthotics, and referrals to therapists or other specialists, as appropriate.
What to Expect
A Direct Approach
Canopy Medical Clinic is a direct pay practice- we don't bill insurance. Patients pay for their care directly. This framework allows us to provide care regardless of insurance status, and provide the care we believe our patients truly need. This approach also aims to provide clarity with medical bills, and minimize our own administrative burden so we can focus on delivering excellent care. On request, we provide an itemized receipt you can submit to your insurer for possible out-of-network reimbursement. Additionally, we offer sliding scale fees for those that may be experiencing financial hardship.
